BEST Coffee of the Year Award 2010 goes to Diedrich Coffee.
Few pleasures rival a great cup of coffee. The advent of Starbucks Coffee has brought the coffee culture in the U.S. to a whole new level. Starbucks Coffee shops have become the new front porch in the community. However, while their coffee definitely packs a punch, we at Best Of The Best feel that their highly-touted Pikes Place blend is one of the worst-tasting coffees in coffee history. We have found that most coffee connoisseurs agree with us. However, Starbucks does a great job at customer and community service, so it is still a place we enjoy going, even though we don’t like the coffee!
So, the question we had from several of our readers is, “What is the best coffee, then?” We launched a “Better Than Starbucks” campaign and taste-tested coffees from all kinds of coffee companies across the U.S. Our reviewers always prefer fresh, whole-bean coffee to ground coffee or K-cup coffee pods.
We award the Best Coffee Of The Year 2010 Award to Diedrich Coffee. Of the various flavors we enjoyed, we liked Diedrich Coffee French Roast and Wiener Melange the best.
Competitors we considered: Starbucks, Illy, Jeremiah’s Pick Coffee,
