Christmas With Southern Living

Christmas with Southern Living 2011

Christmas is such a memorable and sacred time of year for so many.  We’ve surveyed readers and asked them, “What do you remember most about Christmas?”  Possible answers: 1. Gifts 2. Food 3. Family Traditions.

This project came about because we all started thinking about Christmas last year as we prepared for this year.  What did we remember most about Christmas?  Gifts?  We remembered them and appreciated them.  Food?  Delectable.  Family Traditions?  Family traditions were the number one memory that set our hearts aglow with joy all over again.

This Christmas, if you want to give a special gift which will live on in the hearts of your loved ones for years to come, we have a recommendation for you.  Southern Living makes timeless Christmas books which give you festive and elegant suggestions on how to make Christmas memorable.

Christmas with Southern Living, their most recent publication,  contains holiday project ideas to savor, entertain, decorate, and share.

Southern Living also makes a comprehensive cookbook for everyday favorites called The Southern Living Cookbook.  This cookbook contains 1,250 recipes.

Each section educates and explains techniques.  For example, the chapter on meats contains an overview of how to handle, cook, and determine doneness.  It also contains a chart called “Beef Made Easy” which presents a full-color chart on cuts of meat. Then the cookbook presents a wide variety of useful, everyday recipes using beef.

What we like best: the cookbook’s layout.  It is so easy to use.  Also, the cookbook is soft-backed so the pages stay open and flat easily.
