Before you do anything else today, you must contact Houston Grand Opera and procure your tickets to Verdi’s Aida. It is opera at its finest. HGO, celebrating Verdi’s 200th birthday this year, opened the season with a spectacular production of Aida, a timeless story of ancient Egypt.

You will be treated to an artistic set design that takes you to Memphis and Thebes on the Nile and a masterful performance of the HGO Orchestra conducted by renowned Antonio Fogliani. The stage is now set for three of the most wonderful voices you have ever heard. Liudmyla Monastyrska, (Aida), Delora Zajick, (Amneris), and Riccardo Massi, (Radames), are a delight to listen to in their solo roles, but when they combine their voices, the ensuing sound is incomparable. When the chorus is added, it is a true music delight. The four acts seem to fly by and when it is over, you wish there was more.

This is an opera you do not want to miss.

Purchase tickets and find out more information here.
