We visited this breathtaking place one summer in July. It provided a welcome respite from the Texas heat. After a pleasant hike through the scenic, lush mountains of Oaxaca, Mexico, we enjoyed a refreshing swim in the crisp natural springs at Hierve el Agua. The nature preserve also has a small handful of vendors who sell handicrafts. We enjoyed the sweetest pineapple and mangos we have ever tasted. We’ve traveled to the natural pools of Pamukkale, Turkey as well. Hierve el Agua and Pamukkale are the only two places which contain these unique natural pools in the entire world. Currently, the pools in Pamukkale are off-limits for swimming due to environmental preservation concerns. Our visit to Hierve el Agua was memorable, pleasant, and unforgettably refreshing and relaxing. We are so glad we traveled to this natural wonder. It is definitely worth a visit if you are traveling to Oaxaca, Mexico.
