August 22-24, 2025, a magnificent Mariachi showcase takes place at the Wortham Theater in Houston, Texas. Featuring some of the “best of the best” talent, the Mariachi Festival consists of 3 consecutive nights of Mariachi music in an exquisitely elegant setting.
We attended the August 23rd performance by the Mariachi 7 Leguas, UTRGV Ballet Folklorico, and Mateo Lopez. Concertgoers were dressed in regal attire. The mariachis sang with gusto and intense candor. And the ballet folclorico dancers mesmerized audiences with their colorful dances.
This is truly a not-to-miss annual event. Some of the night’s highlights included:
-Mariachi 7 Leguas: This Mariachi band is internationally acclaimed and has been awing audiences since 2004.
-The harpist of Mariachi 7 Leguas – He is outstanding!
-Mateo Lopez: He is 10 years old and can really belt-out the music!
